Hotel Novum

What stood out most was how welcoming the service felt. There weren’t lots of rules about diving, swim caps, or what to wear in the sauna, and no cameras checking up on guests. That’s what hospitality feels like to me. The rooms are spacious. The pool isn’t huge, but the temperature is good and the waves are dampened, so it’s great for swimming laps. The sauna setup is also nice, with three sauna rooms, a steam room, and an outdoor area. Breakfast was good and complete, but the coffee was bad and the eggs were badly overcooked. It’s a good wellness hotel at a reasonable price.

This hotel chain exploits refugees. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We had breakfast with a group of about 50. At first there were only enough scrambled eggs for maybe 10 people, though more arrived after 10-15 minutes. The first rolls were tiny, just a couple of bites, but they were normal-sized by the time everyone had finished. We also had to ask for more water for the tea, and for salt and pepper. Orange juice was the only juice. The rest was okay.

The staff were very helpful, and the rooms are nice and spacious, with balconies. The location is good too, and the food is reasonably priced. Just keep in mind this isn’t a budget hotel. Thumbs up.
