Dornröschen

We were a group of 50, but there was only one server. We’d booked months ahead, so it was frustrating that nothing seemed to have been planned. Drinks came when we were nearly done eating, and some of the pre-ordered dishes arrived differently. The food was rushed onto the table because the owner wanted to leave early. We had to ask three times for the side salads we were missing, and the schnitzels seemed to have been prepared in advance and kept chilled. Then I found a long black hair in the schnitzel’s cheese sauce. The service felt unfriendly and overwhelmed, more like a cafeteria.

The food was very good, which made the service issues a shame. We waited more than an hour, and the dishes came out in batches, not all at once, even for people who had ordered the same thing. Service could have been better, especially since the large group at the next table seemed to get all the attention.

The fireplace room was a lovely setting for the Swiss evening, and the cheese fondue was just perfect. We’ll definitely come back.

We stayed outside under cover and could still enjoy ourselves through heavy rain and thunderstorms. The staff were fun and friendly, the cakes were delicious, and the other food was tasty too. Highly recommended.
