Hotel am Platz

They made it pretty clear that being friendly isn't a priority. I called to ask why the menu wasn't online, and was told quite rudely that they don't publish it publicly. When I then asked what was on it, the reply was, "Should he read me the whole menu now?"

That first night ended suddenly at 11:25 p.m. when the siren went off because of a field fire. We hadn't known the hotel's right next to one, and emergency call systems for police and fire services aren't well-developed in the area, so the air raid sirens ALWAYS sound when there's an emergency call. Breakfast was modest but enough, and the server was really friendly and accommodating. The cleaning staff also did their best. The rooms were clean, though the bathroom had limescale everywhere, the furniture was very dated, and the carpets had various stains. The interior feels stuck in the late 1970s, and the place badly needs a major renovation. We stayed two nights in early August 2025, and the advertised room rates felt completely overpriced.

The bowling alley was a hit with everyone, and the service stayed friendly, quick, attentive, and impeccable throughout. On June 3, 2025, we celebrated my wife's birthday at the Hotel am Platz, and we were very satisfied with the value for money. The three-course meal we'd ordered, including pike-perch fillet and braised veal cheeks, was plentiful and absolutely delicious. Many thanks again to the chef. I'd highly recommend it for family celebrations.

The price for a single night is far too high, and I felt like I was in a ghost hotel because there seemed to be nobody else around. The hotel itself is okay, but it's sterile and neither attractive nor cozy. Whoever greeted me, the owner or someone else, was incredibly unfriendly, the worst I've experienced. Definitely don't come here.
