The hotel restaurant was a real highlight. I ate there twice. On the first evening I had asparagus with melted butter and added veal steak. The asparagus was nicely cooked, not too soft, and the butter sauce went well with it. The veal could have been more tender, but it was still good. The second time I ordered the goat cheese salad and crusty pigling knuckle. The salad had lightly toasted goat cheese, some chips, and a tangy dressing, and it was very good. The knuckle was cooked well, with delightfully crisp skin and tender meat that wasn't dry. With the sauce and sauerkraut, the meal felt satisfying without being too rich. The room was modern and had the basic things you need, though there was no fridge or safe. I liked the garden at the back for sitting outside, and there's a playground across the back road. A couple of things struck me as odd: reception doesn't face the main road or entrance, so as a first-time visitor and foreigner I had trouble finding it. Also, there are no outlets beside the bed. That's unusual, but a little refreshing since you don't have to depend on your phone before sleeping.

It's a lovely spot for business workshops, and a good base for trips and hikes in the surrounding nature. This family-run hotel also has its own local brewery, and the restaurant serves good local food.

A good place to slow down and get some fresh air, or explore the Swabian Alb. It's in the middle of a protected natural area, with helpful tips for setting out on bike rides or hikes. There are many nearby sights and activities, including Germany's only underwater cave. The traditional Swabian hotel serves good food and drinks, including beer brewed on site, and the service is kind.
