Hotel Schöne Aussicht

A bit pricey, but otherwise a fantastic hotel.

We were here for a couple of nights on a business trip. The rooms were larger than we expected, and the value for money was great. Really nice views, staff, and breakfast out in the middle of nowhere, or the Black Forest, if you prefer 🙂 We'll come again.

The drive up to this nice hotel is long and winding. Once there, you get a good old German style, very good food, and quick service. Our room was cosy, with warm colours, maybe a little small but laid out well. There’s a lift to the first floor, and the view makes the name “Pretty View” fit perfectly. I’d recommend it for one night or a longer stay, though for a longer visit, exploring the area is a must.

We stayed four nights on a hotel package, then two more with B+B only. It beat any price I found on an internet search engine. The half pension was excellent: a full breakfast buffet and dinner with three main course choices, or two to three vegetarian options, sometimes vegan, followed by soup, salad, the main and dessert. They were flexible about the soup if that day's choice didn't suit you. It's a quiet, comfortable hotel right in nature, with walks starting from the door. The hotel is barrier-free, including the swimming pool area, which has a separate entrance. The family and staff are the best I've come across in my 40 years, always attentive, welcoming, friendly and helpful. There are massages, fitness and a swimming pool. It's not a full spa, but cosy and just right.
