Hotel am Park

Free secure parking is available, and they gave us an extra bed for the baby, which made it baby friendly. The room was spacious and had all the basic amenities. Breakfast had pretty much everything you could want. A great place for a night or two.

The staff even stayed awake until around 2:00 am to help me check in. That mattered a lot after another hotel cancelled my booking because they couldn’t delay their late check-in time. They replied quickly to all my emails and requests, arranged a taxi from the station when I asked (I paid the fare), and printed my travel schedules to make getting around easier as a newcomer to Huckehoven. They were very helpful, especially with calling taxis if you don’t speak German. The rooms were decent for the price, and the staff did their best to welcome an English-speaking guest. There’s secured Wi-Fi and other basic hotel facilities. Breakfast is a buffet with a decent variety. The hotel is close enough to the road that traffic can disturb a quiet room during some morning hours, so you may want to ask for a quieter one. There’s no safe in the room, though an information leaflet said one can be requested at reception. That wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I had a very pleasant stay, and the late check-in came in handy.

Getting there is easy, and there’s a car park. It’s a small, clean hotel with a very good restaurant, an excellent menu, and friendly staff.

We came over from the UK and found the hotel friendly and very pleasant.
