Waldhotel Im Wiesengrund

The staff were warm and friendly, and ready to help. We had excellent food in the restaurant, a very good breakfast, and a nice range of local beers. The hotel has all the facilities you'd expect, no more and no less. We'll definitely return!

The hotel is pleasant enough, but the staff were very rude. Our reservation gave us until 12:00 to check out, yet they ordered us out at 11:00 in an extremely rude way. We left the room, then waited at the front desk for over five minutes, ringing the bell with nobody in sight. Since we'd booked by credit card, we went outside. Several minutes later, while we were loading our luggage, staff came running out and called us back in to pay at the desk. They won't see us again.

The owners' hospitality really stood out, and the staff were pleasant. We enjoyed the tasty food and the magical atmosphere of the reserve. It's a wonderful hotel in a beautiful, scenic setting, and I recommend visiting this little corner of paradise❤️

The setting is gorgeous. After a winding drive, you reach a small, idyllic town that feels like a fairytale. The hotel also looks beautiful from outside, and I can see its potential, but inside there's a lot that needs attention. The lack of friendliness and interaction made the stay feel off-putting. Nobody even asked how it was going or whether they could help. A few small changes could make this a 4-5 ⭐ experience. At breakfast, staff could take the initiative when key things are missing, like bread, cheese, juice, or hot water, instead of waiting for guests to ask again and again. Day one was perfect, but on day two about half of it was missing. The social side needs work too. Staff seemed to avoid contact, even eye contact, and it felt like they were there because they had to be. If speaking English is difficult, learning a few basic phrases and trying to make guests feel welcome would help. The comfort and cleanliness in my one-person room also weren't up to scratch. The heaters needed to be cleaned of dust, the pillow was really just a thin, worn sheet, and the shower didn't keep the water in. After ten minutes, puddles had formed, so I had to ask for towels to dry them up. Im Wiesengrund has a lot of potential, and guests deserve to feel welcome. I hope these problems can be used to improve things and give people a reason to return.
