The room was incredibly loud, like trying to sleep between a freight railway and a highway. The building has been repurposed nicely and is generally pleasant, though those silly Instagram-style slogans feel overdone. Staff seemed uninterested and more focused on one another. And the "welcome drink on your room" turned out to be a mini bottle of water.

Racism has no place anywhere, and the way the bald, bearded man treated me and my colleagues was unacceptable. It's a shame because the hotel itself is alright, but I'm never coming back. Racist people are ruining this place.

We had a great two-night stay, and the staff were friendly and very service-minded. When the TV problem couldn't be fixed because no technician was available on Saturday night, they offered us another room for the second night right away, and everything worked there. Breakfast had lots of choices, with some items changed the next morning. If you're after a modern, pleasant stay in Husum, I'd recommend this hotel.

The rooms and suite are new and in good shape, and most of the staff were friendly, especially those serving breakfast. Still, there are several things that could be better. The TV is mounted about two metres high across from the wardrobe, so watching from the couch or bed means tilting your head and risking neck pain. The upstairs bed sits under the sloped roof. At 1.74m and 1.51m, my wife and I managed, but anyone over 1.80m would have their head squeezed between roof and mattress. We also had to let our feet hang nearly off the bed to lie comfortably. When I raised these points, the managing director came across a little impolite. I expected feedback to be welcome, though maybe the breakfast issue had affected her reaction. We arrived late for breakfast and took some fruit and bread because we hadn't had time to eat enough. At checkout, staff said they should charge us for the extra buffet food, but wouldn't. I understand taking food away isn't ideal, but raising a bill for just a few euros only puts the customer in a bad mood and leads to a poor rating. I'd have accepted it kindly. There was also a blackout across the whole block overnight. Several guests asked how to manage things like getting undressed or showering without light, and the managing director said there was nothing she could do. I understand it wasn't the hotel's fault, but better preparation, such as having flashlights ready, would help. We had two battery lights in our room and gave one to other guests. Some compensation for the disruption, even a free drink or 5% off, would have been a nice gesture. It's a nice place with good rooms, but the service could improve.
