Azur Waldcamping Auwaldsee

We spent one night here with our caravan. The site is quite large and has a modern toilet building. It's very convenient, just a two-minute drive from the A9 motorway, and booking and payment online were easy.

There's a good restaurant next to the site, with a nice beer garden. The campground itself is really nice, with plenty of level spots for an RV or trailer. Electricity is available in some areas, and the roads throughout are paved. Facilities are in great shape and kept very clean. There's also a shop with basic parts that can help with repairs.

The sandwiches in the morning were very good and warm, with pickup starting at 0800. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the campsite is large with plenty of space. We stopped for a night while traveling through, arriving just before 1500 to find a line of grumpy Germans waiting. You fill out a form and hand it to the employees for registration. Since we were in low season, it was fine, but I wouldn't want to be there in high season. There's not much room for tents like ours, as the site is more set up for recreational vehicles. We used the sanitary building at the back, and it was very dirty and old, practically ready for destruction. The toilet didn't work properly, and we had to flush the previous person's mess. All in all, I wouldn't come back.

The campsite has lots of trees, and the staff were really efficient and friendly. We stayed one night, and the shower block was very clean and well equipped. The bus service to and from the site is good, but the last bus from town at night is at 20.30. Other buses run, but don't go to the campsite, which was a bit confusing.
