There are books throughout this small, clean, and distinctive hotel, including some in English. It also has a little sauna if you want to relax. The location is great for nature lovers, with a forest right beside the hotel. I went jogging there and found it quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended.

The Literaturhotel Franzosenhohl gets right the things it sets out to offer, with a focus on literature, reading, and relaxation. The location, interior, and service are very good. Reception is poor and the WiFi is mediocre, though those aren’t exactly essential for this kind of hotel.

We had a peaceful one-night stay, with lots of walks nearby and the town close by. I’d booked a forest-view room and asked whether we could upgrade to a valley view. The receptionist was very helpful and arranged a room change without making anything seem like trouble. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast was very good too. Looking forward to staying again.

The place is quiet and peaceful, away from pollution, among maple trees, and only a five-minute drive from Iserlohn railway station. The washrooms and linen were spotlessly clean, the staff were super friendly, and the English breakfast was nice, especially the omelettes. There are books arranged all around the hotel. What a hotel, I’m speechless.

A quality find outside a town that otherwise feels quite sad. The room was clean, breakfast was good with eggs made to order, and the restaurants were equality. Staff were friendly.
