The hotel was a nice base for our five-day trip to the Rhine Valley and Cologne with Harry Shaw. Our rooms were clean and spacious, and there was plenty of food. We arrived very late the first night, but check-in was quick, and soup and sandwiches were waiting for our whole coach group. Breakfast was a self-service continental spread. Dinner was served at the table, with some salad to help ourselves to, and there was a lovely BBQ on the final evening. No kettle in the room, so I brought my own tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. There was a hairdryer, and a TV, though you’d need to understand German. We were too busy exploring to use it. There aren’t shops nearby for snacks, food, or ice cream. A couple of restaurants were close, though we didn’t try them. There was a Lidl about a 5-10 minute drive away. Just down the road, we took a beautiful boat cruise on the Rhine. Thanks to Andreas and the team for the brilliant hospitality, it was a great holiday 🏴

We were a coach group of 50, and even though we arrived at 10 pm, they served us a three-course meal. The staff were super friendly and helpful. After a day sightseeing, it was great to relax in the well-being suite, with its sauna and power showers. Towels were provided. Breakfast was continental, with enough for everyone. Dinner was a set meal, and I’m sure they would accommodate dietary needs. Entertainment was limited, but the fancy dress cupboard made for a great evening.

The Rhine and Mosel valleys have beautiful scenery, and this family-run hotel was good overall, with helpful staff. Be ready for the clock chiming every hour and trains in the distance. Bring cash in Euros, since not many places in the nearby towns take cards.

Andreas, the owner, is a real character, a great, very funny guy who gives 100% every day. The food was good, and Eadie the waitress is fantastic. She’s a lovely lady, warm, kind, and caring, and not to be messed with. Anyone who says otherwise needs to look at themselves. The rooms are basic, but functional.

There’s good food and lovely staff at this well-situated hotel on the Rhine. Getting around can be tricky if you’re not very mobile, as there are lots of stairs. There are lifts, but to reach some areas, including the restaurant, you still need to go up or down stairs.
