Hotel Schleimünde

I’m breastfeeding a baby with allergies to milk products, eggs, and soja, so I checked first if I could eat there. They said it was no problem. I asked for the allergen menu and chose something without those ingredients. But as soon as I tasted the vegetables, I could taste butter. When I went to the bar to check, they said, “Oh, that’s not OK? It’s not normally on there.” So why was it on there that day, after I’d told them I couldn’t eat it? They were rather rude and asked what I wanted instead. I asked for the same dish without butter, and they made it that way. When I later said I wasn’t pleased, all I got was a flippant “whoops, sorry.” They made no effort to put things right. They said the rest was safe, but over the next few days it became clear I’d eaten more than one bite of butter. There must have been milk, egg, or soja hidden somewhere else in the food. My poor baby was sick for four days. She can handle a bite, so traces aren’t a problem. This restaurant was a huge problem. If someone asks whether they can eat there with an allergy, just say no if you can’t keep the food safe. No hard feelings. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for making my baby ill.

The Swiss chef makes delicious food for the hotel's own restaurant, with a wide choice of excellent fish dishes. Be sure to reserve when you arrive. There’s covered parking and a place to charge bicycles behind the building. It’s a lovely, family-run hotel. The rooms are very clean, and the bed linens and towels have charming little decorations. Breakfast is excellent, with fresh rolls from a local bakery.

The price was great, and the hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. I was absolutely thrilled and would recommend it. The tent area was cool too, and the sanitary facilities were OK. 👍☺️❤️

We spent a weekend at the hotel and didn’t manage to try the much-praised hot meals because of our schedule. The breakfast was fantastic, though, and every staff member was incredibly friendly. We have no complaints at all. Such a beautiful spot! 🤩
