Hotel Kaiserhof

The free hotel bikes were a real highlight, and the location made it easy to get around. We stayed for two weeks. Our room was spacious and nice, though a little dated. Housekeeping didn’t refill the shampoo or soap. We could have asked, but kept forgetting. The breakfast staff were lovely, with a varied buffet. Most of the reception staff were friendly, but one man in a suit wasn’t very welcoming. As we walked past, I overheard him say “English” in a disgusted tone.

The morning team were kind, especially the receptionist and the breakfast receptionist, and all the cleaning staff were polite. Breakfast was good. The room was very large, with a fridge and a powerful shower, but hygiene items, including pillows, had to be requested from reception. There was no one at reception after 11pm. My experience with the evening receptionist was awful. He treated me in a discriminatory way and asked if I could afford his “expensive hotel.” He also cursed while my husband was trying to park. It felt deeply disrespectful for a four-star hotel. We had chosen this as the last stop of our honeymoon after many hours of driving and were exhausted. The bedsheet was very dirty, as shown in the pictures, and the slippers were reused, dirty, and sticky. The hotel has potential, but after that evening receptionist’s treatment, I wouldn’t stay again.

The U-Bahn is just a short distance away, which is ideal. The staff were incredibly eager to help, and the room was cozy enough to feel like home.

The room and its amenities were excellent, apart from the bathroom, and service was excellent too, especially from the man at reception. But the bathroom smelled like a sewer, which made the stay unpleasant. Unfortunately, that leaves me having to give a bad review.
