Rio Hotel

They were happy to keep our luggage at the hotel all day, both before and after our overnight stay, and the staff were friendly and cheerful throughout. The room was clean, tidy and thoughtfully set up. When a small issue came up, they responded quickly and helped sort it out. Good value for money, and we’d recommend it.

The view from the window and balcony wasn’t much to look at. Apart from that, I liked the hotel: it’s just a short walk from the city centre, and both the business room and standard room I stayed in were clean, tidy and roomy enough for the price. The reception staff were especially friendly and kind.

The breakfast buffet was tasty, generous and reasonably priced, and the rooms were lovely. There’s also a minibar, parking in the hotel garage, and a welcoming, friendly team. The night concierge even served drinks for a last round. I’d stay again whenever I’m in town.

The hotel is close to the city centre and has a decent garage if you’re driving. My pillow was too soft and low, and when I spoke to reception the conversation got strange. They brought me another set of sheets and a second pillow just like the first, so I had neck pain the whole time. I’ve stayed in better places in Karlsruhe. This one isn’t among the best, though it’s not the worst either.
