Hotel am Tiergarten HBF

There’s no room phone or locker, and my morning was made worse by how the staff handled a simple request. I asked for a paid toothbrush kit listed in their guide, but both the receptionist and housekeeping were rude, as if I was asking for something unreasonable. The bathroom floor had hair on it. When I showed a photo, the staff member looked at me as though I wanted their own money. Their cold response ruined my morning. For this price, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

We booked the loft after my partner said it cost the same as a double room, even though there were just two of us. It’s huge, with room for five adults and a baby. We liked the space, but the towels were gray enough to make me wonder how old they were. The hotel is across from the train station, which worked well for our transfer.

The room was quiet, with no noise from outside or the restaurant downstairs, and it was bright, clean, and spacious. Staff were polite and attentive, and the location near the train station was very convenient. The price also seemed reasonable. My two small complaints were the worn towels and the weak Wi-Fi, which made the internet slow without mobile data. I’m giving it four stars, but it was still a great stay and I’d recommend it.

There was barely any Wi-Fi, and our street-facing room got noisy and smoky when we opened the windows. We heard the trains early, and streetlights kept the room bright all night. The room itself was comfortable and spacious, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the small shower worked fine.
