The Q - Quadro City Hotel

For such a low price, I got a lovely, clean room with carpeted floors, and it was spacious enough for me on my own. Staff were helpful and polite, aside from one receptionist who started speaking Russian to me without asking whether I wanted that or even spoke the language. That was just her attitude and had nothing to do with the hotel, which was wonderful. The room exceeded my expectations.

The price was really reasonable, and the hotel itself was lovely. My room was clean, with comfortable bedding. Getting around was easy too: the bus and tram stops are right outside, and the main train station is just three stops away. I liked staying here and would choose it again when I visit Karlsuhe.

That lemon water by the entrance is such a nice touch, and the price is great. The place was clean, which matters most to me, and the service was good. I did find the room furniture very old, and the TVs could use an update. I couldn't get the smart TV to work for YouTube, which was disappointing. Also, for a room booked for two, could you leave two or four coffee capsules instead of three? 🫠😂 Still, I had a good stay.

The bathroom was dirty, and there was noticeable wear on the counters. The beds were clean, but the setup they call a king was just two twin mattresses pushed together, which wasn't comfortable. The kid's bed was a pullout cot with a small mattress. There's no AC, though they provide fans. On the plus side, the service was great, the rooms were decent for a cheap hotel, and the tram stop is right nearby. Breakfast was okay, and there's a grocery store across the road. They advertise the four star status everywhere, which stood out given the condition of the room.
