The room was spacious and clean, with a really comfortable bed, and the bathroom was spotless. Noise can be an issue, as other reviewers have said, but it didn't bother me and I slept like a log. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant were convenient. I especially liked the salmon, and breakfast had plenty to choose from, including fresh bread, cheese, and muesli. Check-in at Deutsches Haus was a bit abrupt: the host seemed rushed and pointed me to my room without much of a greeting. Later, though, he was friendly and helpful. Despite that start, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend Deutsches Haus.

The food was fabulous, and we loved it. Our host was wonderfully welcoming, put us at ease, and took an interest in our story. We stayed here while walking the Rheinsteig.

There was a good dinner menu and a lovely breakfast, and hikers can make sandwiches to take along, with bags provided. This suited our hiking holiday perfectly. It's close to the Reinsteig trail and welcomes dogs. The shower had enough pressure to wash our dog.

I wasn't sure why our trip planner had us cross the river for the night and then cross back while we were hiking point to point, but this stay made the detour worthwhile. The owner was funny, friendly, and welcoming. Everything was tidy, if simple. We enjoyed our meal, and the wine he recommended was fantastic.

We stayed one night while passing through on a walking holiday. The room was nice, and the gummy bears were a fun bonus. The brothers who run the place were great hosts, especially with the wine advice. Dinner was hearty and really good: the dumplings with my venison stew were top quality, and the schnitzel was excellent. We liked the food much more than what we had the following night at a four-star hotel in St Goar, which cost a lot more.
