Albig Alte Mühle

I'd highly recommend staying here with the family.

There are loads of good places nearby for day trips: the reservoir, the Kyffhäuser Mountains, several caves, and even the Harz Mountains. The Golden Aue region also has rich, productive soil. The apartments are comfortable, and help is there right away if you need anything. We were welcomed so warmly that it felt like coming home. There's plenty of room for kids to play, and it's great to see these historic buildings being preserved. A lovely place for a family stay.

For a night while passing through, it was good value, and the price was quite reasonable. Inside, the place was clean and spacious, although there was nothing luxurious about it. From the outside, the building wasn't very appealing. We didn't sleep well because the mattresses sagged. There's no food or drink available, but for just one night, it was fine.

The owner lives on-site and was friendly, relaxed, and helpful. There's Wi-Fi, plus a little courtyard pool guests can use, and the price is very fair for what's included. The property is on the edge of Kelbra beside a run-down former mill, so the first impression can be off-putting. Inside, though, the apartments have been renovated beautifully and are spotless. Hardwood floors run throughout, the furnishings are in good shape, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen has everything needed to cook.
