The hosts were friendly and great with children, and the farm has play equipment and a play tower. Our little apartment was charming, with two bedrooms and two beds in each, a bathroom with a shower, a balcony, and a kitchen-dining area. It was absolutely beautiful, with a mountain view, and good value for money. We stayed as a family, and Waging am See, Ruhpolding, Salzburg, and Chiemsee are all within a 1.5-hour drive.

We’re already talking about when to come back, which says a lot. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. Its big balcony faces south toward the mountains, and the setting is idyllic, up on a hill among forests, fields, and horse paddocks. It feels especially safe for children since it’s well away from busy roads, with a small playground and chickens, rabbits, and horses. The only thing that could be better is the Wi-Fi, which could be faster and more stable.

Our caravan pitch had a great view over the countryside and the horses. I can’t say anything about the rooms, since we stayed with our caravan. Everything was fine, though the “emergency toilet” in the courtyard is a real pit latrine, so it’s worth knowing that ahead of time. It won’t suit everyone, but it does the job 😉.

The owners were incredibly kind. When the beam holding the swings turned out to be rotten and the children were disappointed there were no swings, they put up a new beam the very next day. We’d love to come back. It’s a peaceful farm, lovely for hiking, and well suited to children up to elementary school age. The apartments have what you need and work as they should, though cleanliness was sufficient for us and dust can always be a matter of opinion. They mix old and new, which is part of the charm: old farmhouse cupboards and beds alongside newer bathrooms or kitchens, even lamps with obsolete incandescent bulbs 😀. I would have liked more plastic bowls and spoons for children, like those from the Swedish furniture store, and a slide and sun loungers would have been nice too, but that’s really nitpicking 🤭. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
