The in-house restaurant was very good, and the hotel offered good value with a nice staff and a good breakfast. Room rates include a KONUS card for free use of public transport, and the hotel is close to the bus and train station. The nearby station and level crossing do bring some noise, but none of us minded it. We were there as a family with two kids.

Simon and his mother were especially helpful and friendly, and we loved our stay. It’s a family-owned and managed hotel that’s been run that way for many years, with around 20 rooms that are very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good, and the bed was comfortable. The station is only a few minutes’ walk away, and the whole town is easy to explore on foot. Ackemann, a big sports goods store, is about 50 meters from the hotel and rents bicycles for around 10 euros a day each. One small tip: if you come back late, you can use the back door beside the kitchen with your key. We had trouble finding it and were stranded for a while before we figured it out.
