The drinks were generous, cold, and came with ice, and we did get a bite to eat and cool off, so thanks for that. The meal itself was okay, though the schnitzel wasn't as tasty as ones we've had elsewhere. The terrace has a pleasant mountain and river view, but the road right beside it brings passing cars and motorcycles, and the exhaust smell was a real shame. On a very hot summer day, we waited 15 minutes before the owner took our drink order, even though the terrace only has 10-12 tables and was full. We were in a hurry, so we went to pay at the register. Two young waiters couldn't work out which bill I meant, and it took another 15 minutes for the owner to explain it to them. That felt odd, especially since there were no other customers inside.

The view over the Moselle was breathtaking, and the service was wonderful. I could also sample a good wine since they make wine themselves. During my holiday in Klotten, this restaurant and café became my favorite. The Flammkuchen was delicious, and the freshly baked waffle with hot cherries, ice cream, and whipped cream was mouthwatering.

The people running this cozy hotel are the nicest. The owner and his family were friendly and attentive, always doing what they could to make us comfortable. Everything was extremely clean and neat, and the breakfast was amazing, with plenty of food and a good variety, prepared especially for us. We stayed two nights while visiting Cochem and the castles in the Mosel valley, and had a wonderful time. The view is great, the street is quieter, and parking is free. The food was amazing too. When we returned to Cochem later in the summer, we came back to cafe moselterrasse for lunch. The schnitzel really is the best here.

Warm service and a wonderful atmosphere, even on MayDay when the place was packed all day. Fabulous gemütlich restaurant and excellent food. Highly recommended.
