City Apartments Rheinterrassen

A clean place to stay at an affordable price.

The view is fantastic at any hour, but I wouldn’t come here expecting a restful stay. The apartment hotel is extremely noisy: you can hear neighbors snoring, blowing their noses, and drawing their curtains. The ships passing nearby and their engines are loud, as are the freight trains at night. It’s a shame there’s no automatic weekly room service.

The location and view were fantastic, and the apartment worked perfectly well for our two days. The food at the "Wacht am Rhein" restaurant downstairs was delicious, though its smell drifted into the room. It was tolerable, but don’t expect too much.

Customer support got back to me quickly, and check-in was smooth. The apartment had what I needed, though the balcony was shared with the other apartment on the floor. A dog often slept in front of my door. At night I could smell garbage and hear the restaurant’s air conditioning below. The bathroom ventilation didn’t work, so I used the portable standing fan, which was very loud. Thin walls and doors let in plenty of neighbor noise, and at night guests sometimes mistook my doorbell for the light switch.
