The cleaners are a separate company from the hotel, which means the front desk directs you to email them if there’s a problem. My laptop was damaged. AppleCare covered it, but it would have been a nightmare otherwise.

The location near the station was handy, and the room itself was okay. The air conditioning was a bit weak, one pillow was too soft, and there weren’t any hand towels. Our door lock ran out of battery, apparently, and stopped working, so the helpful receptionist had to let us in manually twice. He was the only staff member there.

The room had a funky smell, but otherwise it was what you’d expect from a hotel with this many stars. It’s close to the Hauptbahnhof, and I stayed for two nights.

The rooms are tiny, and the shower and toilet feel dated, with less space than a motor home. The air conditioning was weak and noisy, so I opened the window, which was even louder. Very disappointing. Holiday Inn is 100% better.

There’s no air conditioning, and with the hot weather we had to leave the windows open, which was noisy. Still, the rooms were clean and spacious, and reception was kind and helpful. The location worked well for us, about a 10-minute walk to the center and 14 minutes to alstadt (old town). We also had a nice breakfast just a few steps away at “Hofer”.
