Hotel Wilder Mann

The German meals are simple and tasty, and I liked the desserts more than the mains. The mains were still pretty good, though the pork shoulder was a bit overdone and dry, which is why I'm giving it four stars.

After five months staying here, I just checked out of Wilder Mann, and it was definitely worth the money. Martina and Gebbert are lovely hosts, and Eugen, Andrea, Lea, Constanza, Steffi, Lena, and the rest of the staff were friendly too. I never had a problem or even a misunderstanding. The rooms were always clean and fresh, and ready on time. Breakfast, usually served kindly by Martina, had different breads, espresso, and fresh fruit cocktails. I also loved Stefan's cooking, especially the beef with rice and perch in butter. The SPA is the only one in Königstein, and the upstairs garden is great for a barbecue or just relaxing in the sun. During my time in Königstein, I stayed at Zur Post, Konigsteiner, and Pizzeria Gast House as well. Wilderman deserves the number one spot.

This family-run, traditional hotel is in a quiet village near Konigstien, with open fields and forests behind it. It's got the basics you need, plus WiFi, which is handy in a traditional Bavarian village. You can park in front for two hours, or use their carport on the next street across from the hotel. Breakfast includes eggs, breads, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee, and more.

The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate. Dinner has a great menu at reasonable prices, and breakfast was great too. They even made eggs for me.
