B&B Hotel Konstanz

The entry code stopped working, so we couldn't open the room door. How are you supposed to leave and get back in? There was nobody at reception at 10 p.m., and no one answered the calls, leaving us unable to go out without risking being locked out. The floors were dirty, with bits of hair all over the carpet, and the TV wouldn't turn on either. When we asked reception the next morning, they didn't know how to fix the problem. No competence at all. We ended up leaving someone in the room whenever the rest of us went out. NEVER STAY HERE, you could get stranded in the room you paid for!

The breakfast was very good, but the housekeeping was below basic standards. The room wasn't cleaned properly and smelled strange, there were cookie pieces on the floor, and some stains on the bathroom ceiling. It was the cheapest hotel available, so we hadn't expected much beyond decent cleaning. Parking costs extra, and there's nowhere nearby to stop briefly while checking in and getting the parking code.

I've stayed at this hotel every week, and I'm generally easygoing. Construction noise made it hard to sleep or study, but I didn't complain, and they offered no discount. Another time, cups and towels were missing, so I sorted it out myself without making a fuss. The problem came when I tried to book again. I don't have a credit card and couldn't make the reservation another way, so I wanted to pay on arrival. They wouldn't let me book, even though I was there every week and thought they'd know me. I emailed to explain, got an informal response, then no answer to my last message. Calls didn't work either. When I arrived, there was no night shift and the machine wasn't working. Nobody offered an alternative, solution or explanation. After midnight, I couldn't find another hotel at the same price, and I wasn't going to pay for a different place just to sleep four hours. I was ready to pay here, but not anymore. If people thought about the consequences of what they do instead of being so reckless, we'd have a better world to live in.

The room was very clean and tidy. But at 11 a.m. the cleaner knocked and said she wanted to clean it, even though checkout wasn't until noon. That felt very inappropriate.
