The breakfast buffet had a wide selection, from German breads and pastries, meats and cheeses to yogurts, chia pudding, overnight oats, a candy bar, and a Japanese poached egg station. The pool was heated and usable even in fall. Our suite overlooking the lake was beautiful, and room service was excellent, with fresh chocolates on the table and a glass of sparkling wine to welcome us. Breakfast service spoiled what had been close to a five-star stay. We spent 30 minutes in the dining room enjoying the buffet, but not one waiter came to our table. We couldn’t order coffee or the sandwich we wanted from the breakfast menu, and nobody cleared our plates. In the end we left and drove to a cafe in town, cranky and annoyed. If we’d been staying longer, I’d have checked out and found another hotel for the next day.

We first stayed here over Christmas the year Covid broke out, when it still felt like distant news in Europe. The winter lake views made such an impression that we promised ourselves we'd come back. This summer we used the newly expanded and updated hotel as a stop on our drive to and from Tuscany. The rooms feel spacious and luxurious, with thoughtful layouts, though some don't look out over the lake. Everything was spotless and well arranged, the staff were helpful, and the underground parking and rooftop pool were great. Breakfast is a buffet, with cooked dishes available to order. The bacon and maple syrup waffle sandwich is ridiculously tempting. We had a lovely meal at Ophelia at the start of our holiday, then enjoyed the more casual Seerestaurant on our way home. I'd love to stay for a few nights next time and take in more of the lake.

The room's view was inspiring, and the bathroom and food were wonderful too. We loved the heated pool, the live piano in the evenings, and the service and surroundings. Such an unforgettable stay, thank you 🤍
