Hotel Graf Zeppelin

The room was spacious, though a bit old-fashioned, and the staff went out of their way for my birthday by setting it up with flowers. It's a quiet spot in the middle of Konstanz. Breakfast was awesome, with breads, pancakes, cake, cheese, fruit, vegetables, Joghurt, granola, ham, salami, omelette, bacon, juice, tea and much more.

The staff member's attitude was the real problem. I ordered a latte and Coca-Cola and went to pay, but the clerk looked visibly frustrated, annoyed and nervous about handling it. She didn't hide it, and told me, "Give me a minute, give me minute, you need too many things." Apparently a latte and a Coca-Cola were too much. I had to remind her I was paying for them. I don't expect to be treated that way when paying 4.2 Euro for a small bottle of coke that probably costs 1.5 Euro at most. I wonder whether she'd have acted the same if I were a blonde German. There was no parking at the hotel, which made things difficult too.

I was on a solo bike trip and could conveniently store my bike on the first floor. The breakfast was outstanding, and the rooms were reasonably priced. The hotel is lovely, with friendly and helpful staff, especially Beta at the front desk. It sits in the beautiful historic district of Konstanz, in an excellent location. I highly recommend it.

Parking took extra time and effort, and was quite a hassle to find. The location is excellent for getting to the main attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was decent. But I struggled to sleep through the night because sound insulation was poor, with constant noise from outside, the corridors and the lift.
