Park Hotel

The staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly, and I’m grateful to the receptionist and the cleaning lady. The room, though, was in really poor shape. Paint was peeling off the walls, there were stains everywhere, and one side of the mattress was very uncomfortable. There was barely any room, and spiders and insects were crawling on the windows and walls. I wish I were exaggerating. For the price, it didn’t come close to what I expected. There’s no sound insulation either, so you hear everything outside. I really can’t understand the positive feedback.

After a long, rainy day on the Moselsteig, arriving at the Park Hotel was a relief. The innkeeper was pleasant and helpful, including with his restaurant suggestions. When our plans changed, he found us a larger room for another night and still gave us a discount. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and every staff member we met was pleasant and helpful. I’d highly recommend it.

There’s no luxury here, but it does the job if all you need is somewhere to sleep, leave your things, and shower. The German-style breakfast was okay, even good in this case, though I’ve had better. Good enough for that kind of stay.

The menu was okay, and the local wine was good. The staff were all right, though they seemed a bit pushy with the end of their shift coming up. At 21:20 the coffee machine was already switched off, so there was no coffee. That was really disappointing.
