Hotel Stadt Köthen

The location is handy, just a few minutes from the center and shopping mall, and the room itself was okay. But at €100 a night, the place really fell short for me. The old carpets gave the room an unpleasant smell, and the shower cabin was broken, with the shower head not fitting its holder. The tiny 22-inch TV was stuck in an awkward spot, so watching from either the bed or desk wasn't an option. The fridge looked ancient, though it worked. Breakfast had a range of things, but not what I'd expect at that price: filter coffee, little rolls instead of proper bread, and scrambled egg from a tube. Every cup I picked up had a chip, sometimes several. For €50, I could have accepted all that. At €100, no. They do seem to be trying their best, but it still doesn't meet expectations.
