We stayed here for three days two weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious and clean, the staff friendly, and both breakfast and dinner very good. Great value for money. Greetings from Holland.

The drive here was an absolute nightmare because road 167 (Westfahlen Allee) was closed, but arriving felt like heaven. The room was really nice, and the forest and surroundings look like they belong in a fairytale. The people were lovely and everything was perfect as long as you don’t expect five-star luxury features. One of those places you remember and want to return to.

The food is dependable German cooking, made with ingredients that seem better than average and likely have deep local roots. It’s all fairly middle of the road, though, and nothing really stands out. The bread would struggle to sell at lidl. I love places with the old-school picture of big German cooks working hard in the kitchen, sending out authentic food to waitresses who mix abruptness with charm, with piano accordion in the background. That wasn’t quite the scene here, even if the chef may fit the image. Little disappointed me, but it wasn’t especially remarkable.

A nice hotel in a quiet place, with safe parking and a good breakfast. The service was outstanding, the price very good, and the owners or staff were great, very service-minded people.

The room and staff were perfect, and the ribs in the restaurant were divine.
