Bluhm's Hotel & Restaurant am Markt

In a small Brandenburg town on a Thursday afternoon, choices can be scarce, so this place feels like a welcome refuge. It’s kind, safe, reliable, and welcoming, which is worth a lot in that setting. The recent refurbishment has kept a regional German feel instead of turning the place into an airport lounge, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. There’s real effort in the food, even where it’s imperfect. The fish comes in a thin batter that keeps it moist, and the frozen vegetables are better than tired, grey ones that have sat too long in a fridge. They’re salted heavily enough to last longer than needed, though. The meals are imperfect in a fairly endearing way, and I appreciated the place for what it is.

We were seven people hoping to have lunch, but the restaurant was empty and the woman still told us it was fully booked. Her manner was absolutely rude and inappropriate.

Whenever I come to Kyritz, this is where I stay. Right by the market, it has clean, roomy rooms and a good breakfast buffet.

We only tried the restaurant, and it was excellent value. The food, service, and traditional decor were all very good. Highly recommended.
