The Hotel Director made a point of greeting us and chatting whenever we crossed paths, which happened nearly every time over our 4 days. That personal attention from the top made the stay feel special. The restaurant gentleman was attentive and professional, and his friendly service each morning got our day off to a great start. The Asian lady staff member was just as kind and efficient. We stayed 3 nights in R.394. The facilities and comfort were top notch, and the staff made the experience unforgettable. A hotel that makes you feel like family while offering a luxury stay. Highly recommended!

The trekking paths through nature are amazing, and the food is great too. We loved the peaceful forest setting, a lovely weekend escape for couples looking for some quiet.

The pool with its views over the Lamer Winkel countryside was my favorite place to unwind after exploring. There’s plenty of room to relax, with six pools and nine saunas across the 6,000-square-meter spa. We also enjoyed the “5 Elemente Asia SPA” treatments, from massages to therapies inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine. The staff made each visit feel personal, and the facilities were clean and modern. We found the textilfrei options in the Asia Spa suited us well, despite reviews mentioning that the new sauna area is textile-only. Meals were a treat. Petrusstube served regional dishes made with fresh local ingredients, and breakfast had everything from baked pastries to healthy choices. We ate outside in the garden restaurant, with its lovely green views. The dining staff were attentive and happy to handle dietary preferences. The cocktail lounge was cozy, too, and the drinks were expertly made. Our room had modern decor, plush bedding, and a balcony overlooking the Bavarian Forest. Little details like the pillow menu and complimentary toiletries added to the comfort. The hotel also has family touches like a Kids Club for ages 3-12, baby monitors, and children’s bathrobes. We came as a couple and liked the romantic packages, including private spa experiences. Hotel Sonnenhof sits on a quiet south-facing hillside in the Upper Bavarian Forest, and offers a mix of relaxation, luxury, and adventure. It’s a 4-star Superior hotel with warm hospitality and impressive amenities. Check-in was smooth, and the concierge gave helpful recommendations. As a small company, we’re glad to support the hotel with this review. We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return to Hotel Sonnenhof in Lam.

Very comfortable stay, and the indoor and outdoor pools were nice :)
