I'd book here again. It's a solid hotel and a good place to stay for visiting the Harz, with important sights not far away. My room had a great view from the windows. The rooms are clean, cleaned daily, and nicely sized and furnished. Mine had a high-resolution flatscreen, a large kitchen, and two bedrooms with two separate beds in each. Breakfast was included, and you can pay extra to have dinner there. The bathroom was the weak point. The shower temperature changed by itself between warm and cold, whatever setting I chose. The toilet paper holder seemed so fragile it could fall apart just by looking at it. The towels smelled really bad, though that wasn't a huge deal. Overall, a pretty solid stay. 4/5.

We were very happy with our three-night stay. The apartment had a balcony and was furnished with a lot of care; we barely noticed the café activity downstairs. The staff were child-friendly, and breakfast was tasty with plenty of variety. We also held a funeral service in the café and were pleased with how it went. The prices are very good for what you get, and the cakes on offer are legendary. It's a guesthouse and café run with real care.

The cake portions are a decent size for the price, and the cakes are really good. I didn't stay in the rooms, so I can't comment on them.

We were glad to find this place during a long hike. The cake came in generous slices, the coffee was tasty, prices were fair, and the service was very friendly. 😊
