Seehotel Litz

The family room was roomy and spotless, with two floors, a comfortable living area, a flat-screen TV and a Nintendo with 90s games. The big roof window was lovely, and the shower was nice. The hotel itself was also very clean, and the Nintendo was a fun surprise for the kids. Still, we won't come back. There's no reception or dining room, so you have to walk to their other hotel, Seevital, for service. The place feels dated, and the rooms are very basic for what we paid. The old shades were stuck open, waking us at 6:30 every morning. When we asked for a repair, they covered the windows with an old blanket instead. The beds are small, the mattress was awful, and the pillows were strange rounded things rather than proper pillows. The elevator is tiny, with room for two people at most. Apart from the clean room, shower, and game console, I can't see value for the money. Why is there no reception or staff on site?

The rooms were dated, dirty, cramped, and uncomfortable for the price. Our two-bedroom apartment had just one chair for four people. The hotel has no staff on site, which became a real problem when we found a defective toilet. It kept running and overflowing, smelled bad, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. We tried several ways to reach the hotel but heard nothing until the day after checkout. The manager laughed and told us we'd paid too much, then said he couldn't do anything. We had to take our two small children to a public toilet across the road. A truly awful stay. Avoid our mistake.

The town and the hotel's location are lovely, and the woman who checked us in was very nice. After that, things went downhill fast. Our room was filthy: spiders and webs everywhere, lots of flies, hair on the bathroom wall, and a bad smell. It was badly worn too, with marks on the floors and walls, loose flooring and skirting, and stair carpet that wasn't properly attached and could cause a fall. The room was so hot we wanted to open a window, but there were more spiders and webs between the window and the outside screen. Even the water bottle left for us had a broken seal, so it looked as if it had already been used and not replaced. After I finally fell asleep, I woke two hours later with a centipede crawling on my face and knocked it off my pillow. I barely slept after that. In the morning, I took the remains to reception, but the woman there said none of it was true. She seemed inconvenienced, never apologized, and offered no way to make the stay better. The customer service matched the condition of the room. Neither was fit for guests. The door lock didn't work, there were no robes or slippers, and there was no parking. Breakfast came from the restaurant next door, which was nice and had good service. I still can't believe this place has four stars or charges such outrageous prices. We left first thing instead of waiting for checkout, and we'll never stay here again. I'd warn others away too.

The location is lovely, especially in the suites with their lake views. The staff are friendly, but the hotel itself falls short. The rooms feel too basic for the price, and cleanliness isn't a strong point. I didn't think it was worth the money.
