Haus Kubus

The balcony is impressively big, and the apartment was clean with what we needed to cook for ourselves. It’s also in a quiet spot, though the building itself has very poor sound insulation, so we could hear everyone’s conversations. We were lucky to get three nights during peak season in the middle of the Corona pandemic, which deserves an extra star.

We stayed 13 days in August 2020 as a couple aged 66-70, in Apt. No. 3 on the raised ground floor. The southwest-facing balcony was great for breakfast and dinner every day, and the apartment was clean, well cared for, and just as large and well equipped as described. It got too hot, as Germany often does, but Mrs. Zimmermann brought us a tower fan that helped a bit. The landlords were very friendly, and I’m sure they would have sorted out anything we needed. There are plenty of shops, Langenargen is a lovely place, and Lake Constance is roughly 300-400 meters away. We had a very nice stay and had already booked for 2021. I left my garment bag behind when we checked out. I was already 150 km from Langenargen, so I didn’t turn around. Ms. Zimmermann called me right away, and we arranged for her to mail it to me, with me covering the postage. It arrived by post three days later. Thanks so much for making that so easy. That alone deserves another star. We highly recommend them.

There’s plenty of room in the apartment, and otherwise things were fine. The kitchen could use a few small items, like a tray. Storage for clothes is a bit awkward: the two very large wardrobes have lots of hanging space but no shelves. A chest of drawers would help.

The contact and service were such a plus. We left our daughter’s teddy bear in the bed, and they sent it back right away. Thanks so much! The apartment was very spacious and clean, with a great location. Some of the furniture is a little worn, though it’s still very nice overall, and it felt like home. We’d happily come back.
