Just outside Solingen, this is a lovely little find in the countryside. The building is well looked after, and everything felt neat and clean. My room was modern and very comfortable, with decent air conditioning. I only stayed for breakfast that day, but the food was superb. If you're after a romantic getaway, this place is well worth considering. Highly recommended.

The staff were very kind, and breakfast was a delicious buffet at this lovely little boutique hotel with its traditional German style. But we visited during a pretty brutal heat wave, around 32C during the day, and the room was like a furnace. It had neither air conditioning nor even a fan.

The staff and location were wonderful, but I couldn't get a restful night's sleep. The luxurious room had no air conditioning, which made the stay miserable in warmer weather. Sound came through the walls too: a guest coughing woke us several times. At this price, I expected better.

We really enjoyed our time here, and even got a group photo with the waitress in her classic costume. The restaurant has classic decor and a range of traditional German food. I ordered spaghetti, which I enjoyed because it wasn't too salty.

The location is convenient near the motorway, beside a main road, and the grounds have good facilities. We had excellent service, a great breakfast buffet, and a lovely traditional hotel. Our big family room was excellent too. The little pool and sauna area cost extra, but we felt it was worth it. Recommended.
