The location worked well for us, not far from Langenfeld station or the centre. The hotel feels a bit dated, including the furniture, but the room was still comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good range, and there's a restaurant too.

We really enjoyed our stay and I'd happily come back. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious, and there's a lovely little beer garden. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. It can get noisy if you're after peace and quiet, though we were there during the World Cup, so perhaps it's different at other times.

The meals themselves were fine, but the restaurant service was very poor. We were a large group and still felt completely ignored. The room also smelled of cigarette smoke, and we were charged an extra 80 euros for two single rooms even though we'd been given one shared room with a bathroom in the corridor. They refused to refund us after we complained. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We got a generous serving of goose, with free soup to start, and the service was really attentive. Thanks, I'd love to come back sometime. I'm giving it four stars just to leave you a little challenge.

The different kinds of Schnitzel were fantastic. We had dinner in the Biergarten at Ratskeller, which is open during the summer. It was calm and relaxed, with plenty of German dishes to choose from.
