The meal was good, and the wine list was better than I expected. The staff are friendly, and the place has a bit of old-fashioned charm in a nice way. Still, the hotel was noisy, and my room felt below par. The bed seemed old, the shower head was broken so I had to hold it the whole time, and the closet door wouldn't stay shut. The toilet door caught on the carpet, too. Locking the room door took force, along with lifting it upward. It could really use a modern update.

The wine glasses had a film on them, so their cleanliness and quality could use more attention. Aside from that, we loved the food, and the friendly, attentive service made us feel comfortable. A little more care with the glasses would've made the visit perfect.

Breakfast was plentiful, had lots to choose from, and tasted good. They paid attention to our preferences and needs. The food was delicious at dinner too, and the chef worked in a spotless kitchen where you could watch him. The owner and staff were warm and attentive, and this long-running hotel is a place where you can really unwind. It's not cheap, but I felt it was worth the price and would happily recommend it.
