We spent four nights in Liepzig and visited this very good pub. The staff and locals were friendly, and they had two excellent draft beers, including Pilsner Urquell. Coming from the UK, where people don’t smoke in pubs, we had to get used to the smoky atmosphere. Maybe it needs an extractor fan. The toilets are upstairs, and the cubicle is shared.

After our CL game, this was the only bar I could find that was open, and it turned out to be a good one. The beer selection was good and reasonably priced. Everyone was friendly, and I made good friends with two nice German guys. Worth a visit.

It seemed busy with locals, but I didn’t feel welcome. The place was neither cheap nor cheerful, and some of the service was surly. I wouldn’t go back.
