Space Hotel - Campus der Jesco von Puttkamer Schule

Make sure you check the rules and reception hours, since you can’t get into your room outside those times. They’ll take any chance to charge you for the night even when you haven’t received a room, pointing to their own regulations.

The place was warm and really quiet, with lovely pillows and a comfortable mattress. It was very clean, and you can tell they take care to keep things nice for guests. Thank you.

The staff were very welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. It’s fairly close to the center, with lots of small shops and convenience stores nearby. The neighborhood is poor, but it’s still a very pleasant place to spend time. Prices are pretty good too.

Watch out for extra charges. I expected to pay 110 euro plus 5.52 euro city tax, but they charged me 144 euro. There was 16 euro for parking, though I don’t have a car and nobody asked about parking at check-in, plus another 12 euro for some unknown contribution that nobody mentioned either. They wouldn’t accept my 200 euro cash because they couldn’t verify it was real, even though it was a fresh banknote from the bank that same day. After I complained, they refunded the 16 euro, but be aware. In the end I paid more than I would have at a 3-4 star hotel. On the good side, you get to experience an old apartment from the 1800s, and the beds were comfortable and it was clean.
