The restaurant felt welcoming, the staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. We spent one night at the hotel and it surpassed what we expected. Our room was spacious, clean and warm, with good-quality toiletries. A generous, full breakfast was included too.

The portions are big, and the service was very friendly. I paid 35 euros for a main and two beers, so it isn't cheap, but I thought it was good value. I ordered the beef with onions and spatzle, one of the house specialities, with salad on the side. The meat tasted good and was cooked exactly medium as I asked, though it was a bit chewy.

The service struggled a little with the crowds, and the wait felt too long to me. We were in the dining room that's open all year, which was okay, but the tables were so close that there wasn't much privacy. For the price, that didn't fit the experience, especially with food this good. We went the day after Christmas Eve. The beef with onions and deer ragout were both outstanding for quality, taste and portion size.

The breakfast and meals are very good, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It would be handy to have coffee and tea facilities, a small fridge, and an iron and ironing board in the room. There should also be more seats by reception for guests waiting for taxis at checkout. After 11 am, the public area, including the Gasthaus, is locked, so there are no toilets available.

A nice spot for dinner, with home made food.
