Worth a visit!

We stayed the night, and for once I couldn't find anything to complain about in the room. It felt so comfortable and well put together, we settled in right away. The setting is lovely, with a snug spot by the fireplace in winter and a terrace almost right on the Elbe when it's warm. The food was delicious from the starter through dessert, and you can tell quality matters here. Service was spot on too, attentive whenever we needed something but never in the way. A big thank you to the owners, a married couple, and their team for such a lovely time. Wonderful, and thank you!

We booked apartment 2 at short notice for the Pentecost weekend, after the description on the owners' website had raised our expectations. It was rustic, which is fine and has its own charm, but the bathroom was a real letdown. The site showed a modern, hotel-style bathroom, yet the shower entrance was only 35 cm high. We had already explained by phone that my wife is severely disabled. There was a wheelchair ramp into the apartment, but the shower entrance was impossible for her to manage. We don't mind taking out our rubbish or leaving the place reasonably tidy ourselves. Still, for a 50 euro final cleaning charge, I expected certain services to be included. At that price, we've definitely experienced better.

The spot right by the dike is great. We often stop here for lunch on our bike rides, and have done so for years. The food is tasty and carefully prepared, and the service is excellent.

The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We only ate here, trying the schnitzel and turnip soup, and both were tasty. Still, the bill included €1.35 for four small pieces of bread, which struck me as a bit stingy, especially with the main dishes already priced high. Around here, eating out seems to mean everything is deep-fried. I'm not sure if that's the traditional way to make schnitzel in this area. Whether it's pounded on both sides doesn't really matter to me. You can apparently stay overnight in a campervan in the parking lot, with electricity hookups available for a fee. The country inn sits behind the dike, with the cycle path running along it, and there's a beautiful old avenue nearby.
