Bodenseehotel Lindau

The building feels solid, but there’s a lot of wear and tear. My single room was spacious, though the mattress could use replacing. It was noisy too, being right where several main roads meet.

We were foolish to choose this hotel. People have already said it all here. Our main issue was how poor the service was for the price of a room. You never know what to expect, and don’t count on finding anyone at reception. In a hotel you expect a person to be available around the clock, but here the door is shut whenever nobody is at the desk. Breakfast is like what you’d get at a low-cost supermarket. Looking for hot milk to make chocolate? No chance.

The room was quite cold, and although the hotel is generally clean, the price feels too high for what you get. Breakfast is almost decent if you’re the Slavic kind of guy.

The location is really convenient, right across from the train station. A short walk takes you to the Bodensee and the park, with a great view, and there’s a shopping mall across the street with plenty of shops and places to eat. The staff were very nice and spoke English, which isn’t always the case in Germany. The rooms aren’t especially luxurious, but they’re spacious, really clean, and smell fresh. I love this hotel!
