We arrived by bicycle in September to stay at Anker Lindau Island. The check-in kiosk wasn't working properly, but the manager at the restaurant next door helped us out. Our top-floor room was spacious and bright, though there were lots of stairs to climb. The porch off the bedroom had wonderful rooftop views. Bicycle parking is limited, so plan ahead if you want to bring your bikes inside. It's a great spot for wandering around.

The room was nice for our one-night stay. After returning the keys but before checkout time, we realized we'd left something behind. The machine wouldn't recognize my reservation, so I couldn't get another key.

We got a warm welcome, and the three of us had a spacious room with a full-size single bed and a double bed. Both were comfortable. The hotel is right in the centre of Lindau island, close to restaurants, the harbour and a lovely beer garden just down the road. There was no air conditioning, but the tower fan did the job. The stairs were hard work, though we knew there was no lift, so I'm not complaining about that. Breakfast was good.

The robot reception was easy to use, and the hotel is right in the heart of town, just a few minutes' walk from the car park or train station. My room was at the top, though, and getting there meant climbing a lot of stairs. With hot weather, even the provided fan wouldn't make this the best place to choose.

The room and bathroom were spacious, and the bed was cozy. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the location is great in the heart of the island. There are a lot of stairs to reach the rooms. We didn't try breakfast. If you're driving, park nearby, since hauling heavy luggage between the hotel and car can get tiring. You can also reach the island by train, as Lindau has a station.
