The restaurant served excellent traditional food in generous portions, and our waiter was attentive and spoke English really well. Breakfast was especially tasty, served à la carte, with cheerful, helpful service. The hotel is modern and very well cared for throughout. Our top-floor room was spacious and had a great bathroom. The rooftop terrace is fantastic, with lovely furnishings and brilliant sunshine. It's right in the center of the island. We parked in the square below for check-in and check-out, then used the public garage a few minutes away overnight. A very nice place with incredibly kind staff. We had a fantastic stay and would gladly return.

We'd happily book Hotel Engel again when we're back in Lindau. Its location is perfect, and everything about the stay felt pleasant, friendly, and comfortable. Breakfast was always delicious and generous, and the hosts looking after breakfast were so welcoming and attentive to our needs. The reception staff and hotel hosts were wonderful too.

We had a dinner reservation and arrived on time, but the waitress ignored us for 15 minutes. When people she knew came in after us, they ordered and got drinks before anyone had even spoken to us. Nobody told us whether a table was available, so we eventually gave up. It seemed they weren't interested in serving us unless we were friends with the staff. Germany had treated us well until our dinner visit to Hotel Engel.

Locals pointed us to this lovely Bavarian restaurant, and it lived up to the recommendation. The interior is beautiful, the outside is stunning, and both the food and service were wonderful. There's a really good menu and wine list too.
