Premier Inn Lindau

The room itself was amazing, and the woman working in the morning was smiling and helpful when I needed something. The parking charge caught me off guard: nobody mentioned that I had to take a ticket to enter and pay €15. I’d have liked to know before arriving. That’s why I’m giving three stars. The young blonde woman on the night shift seemed unhappy in her job, very serious and answering like a robot waiting for her shift to end.

I was charged for two rooms after what looked like a system error duplicated my reservation for the same date and name. I arrived at 8 PM for a 6 PM check-in and immediately asked to cancel the extra booking, offering to pay for the one room I’d use. The receptionist initially agreed, but said a manager had to approve the cancellation. I tried again the next day and over the weekend, and staff kept saying they were still waiting for management. Eventually the manager told me cancellations weren’t possible after 6 PM. I’ve had a duplicate reservation canceled before, even at 10 PM, so this felt inconsistent and was deeply disappointing. I feel the hotel handled it unprofessionally, especially in Germany.

The one problem was that we’d asked for a non-smoking room, but it definitely smelled as if someone had smoked in it. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the location worked perfectly for us. Both the bedroom and bathroom were clean, with plenty of space for two people to get ready. The bathroom was nice and roomy, the bedding was crisp, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We appreciated the extra pillows too. We checked everything with a black light and found no issues.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were good and the beds comfortable, though there isn’t much nearby apart from a drive-in cafe. Three buses stop close to the hotel, but they run less often at weekends. It’s a couple of stops from Lindau station, and the island is reachable by bus and train without too long a trip.
