Ferienhof Schöngarten

I really enjoyed the peaceful setting at Hotel Schongarten. The staff made me feel well looked after, and breakfast had plenty of tasty choices. It was a lovely, relaxing place to stay, with genuinely great hospitality.

We booked three rooms for five nights, but the management wasn’t very obliging. For a 3 star superior hotel, there were no fans for the summer heat, and opening the windows meant mosquitoes got in. We were charged 7 euros to wash seven plates for a birthday cake. It wasn’t about the money so much as what that said about the owner’s lack of hospitality. The stay felt very ordinary.

Our room opened straight onto the garden, so it was easy to bring luggage in from the car, and our son could go play on the swing. The room itself was great, and the owner said we could stay an extra hour after checkout as long as the staff had enough time to clean. That didn’t match a complaint I’d seen here. The owner and staff were accommodating and made sure we had a pleasant stay. Breakfast had lots of choices, the rates were reasonable, and booking directly with the hotel saves roughly 15 Euros per night. It’s close to many beautiful sights, so I highly recommend it.

The facilities were nicely maintained, and I had a lovely garden view from the balcony. My room was spacious and super clean. The staff were friendly, and the owner made me feel welcome and was happy to help. Breakfast was varied and tasty. I felt at home, even better!
