The passing trains are occasionally audible behind the building, but they didn’t bother us much. Since the tracks follow the river and you can hear trains throughout the region, it’s more of a regional drawback than a problem specific to this lovely guesthouse. It’s a small, charming place with a very friendly owner. Our room was a good size, clean and tidy. I’d recommend getting a balcony room so you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening with the beautiful scenery.

The view over the Mosel, Alken and Burg Thurant is fantastic. Breakfast was varied and thoughtfully laid out, and during corona it was served at the table. We didn’t lack anything, thank you for that. The balcony rooms are modern, with box-spring beds, and very clean. The guesthouse itself is rustic, but it fits the rest and has a certain charm. What a lovely host, you can tell right away he loves his work.

The host is wonderfully friendly and puts so much care into breakfast. You can tell he’s been doing it with passion for 50 years. This is a lovely bed and breakfast, not luxurious and maybe a little old-fashioned, which I don’t mind at all. Our room was clean, and fresh towels were provided each day when we asked. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Moselle River and Thurant Castle. The only small drawback was the freight trains passing behind the house at night. They made the bed vibrate a little. Still, it was top-notch, and we’d love to come back.
