Gasthof Linde

Right in the centre of Löffingen, it's a great spot for a good night's sleep and a good meal. The old Black Forest hotel has that traditional, creaky-wood feel. The owner, who is also the chef, makes fresh dishes that bring a creative, modern touch to regional food. Check the kitchen hours before you go.

We were four motorcyclists exploring the Black Forest's scenery and winding roads, and the Gasthof suited us perfectly. There was secure, locked parking, and the English-speaking owner was a motorcycle enthusiast who gave us route advice. The hotel was run to a high standard, with comfortable double and single rooms. Breakfast was the usual continental kind, and dinner was as good as meals I've had at high-standard restaurants. The only drawback I can think of is that dinner isn't available on two quiet days each week, and it might be hard to find someone around during the day if you need anything. That didn't cause us a problem, and there are places to eat in town. I'd thoroughly recommend this Gasthof for families, groups, or solo travellers.

The dinner was great, and breakfast was very enjoyable too. I had a pleasant night at the Linde Gasthof, with a large, clean room and a comfortable bed. Everyone was very friendly. I'd recommend staying a night or two and visiting the Wutach Schlucht to see its beauty.

The people were nice and the food was great. Try the risotto. Dogs are welcome in the restaurant.
