The room, furnishings, and amenities were superb, and the breakfast was a lovely surprise. Even though we were the only guests, there was a huge spread, from cold cuts and cheese to eggs, jam, and cake, plus very good coffee and fresh rolls on Sunday. Excellent value for money. We stayed at the country inn on July 9th and 10th, 2016, during a weekend trip, and would highly recommend it. One small drawback was the dust on the furniture and the top of the shower. That may have been because we were the only guests after the recent reopening, though it was officially off-season (July 18th, 2016). There's also a lovely animal park next door, with play areas for children. We'll definitely return!

The food tasted good, but the portions were too small for all five of us. My Jägerschnitzel was so small that I left still hungry. At €12, I expected it to fill me up. That's a shame, and we won't be back.

The owner didn't even acknowledge us, and the food was disappointing. It didn't taste homemade, the meat was bone dry, and there was hardly any spaetzle in the Käsespätzle. We'd stopped in after our hike because the place looked so inviting, but won't go again. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, so there's no need to pick one of the worse ones. This place seems to cater to day visitors from the zoo.

We were thrilled with our stay at Hotel "Zum Tierpark" today. It felt so lovely we could have moved right in. They said it should be reopening soon, once they finish a few small details. It’ll be sparkling new later this month, and we’re hoping to be among its first guests.

On May 1st, my girlfriend and I ordered different versions of schnitzel and sides: she wanted fries instead of fried potatoes, while I asked for fried potatoes instead of fries with my "Almschnitzel." Since the ingredients and work were the same either way, we were surprised to be charged an extra three euros for those requests. When we asked about it, we were brushed off. Service and customer loyalty clearly don’t matter here. It feels like they’re only interested in ripping off people passing through.
